Note: This meet begins at 8:30 am with the 3000m race.

  • Later in the week the Alpha Crush coaches will provide each athlete's competitor number.  This is, in essence, their "bib #" and will be used throughout the season.
  • We ask that you complete the sign-up by 8:00 pm on Thursday.

Rain Policy from Meet Hosts

The host club will assess the forecast on the Friday night before the meet. As long as the day does not look like a complete washout we will proceed as planned to run the meet. If the host club determines the threat of severe or bad weather is too great then an email will be sent out to the NW Georgia track Yahoo group notifying by 10:00 pm the Friday night prior to the meet. If the host club decides not to cancel on Friday night, the host club will proceed to arrive at the track on Saturday morning and set up.(as long as the rain is light or intermittent). Saturday we will attempt to proceed as planned on the host club meet schedule. In the event the weather begins to deteriorate worse than expected that particular Saturday morning, the host club will call a coaches meeting to determine next steps. The next steps could be reducing the events to compete the program sooner or canceling all together. Please make sure your team athletes and parents are aware of our policy. If the meet is canceled during the course of the day on Saturday we will first notify all coaches on site and then those individual coaches can notify their clubs.

Alpha Crush adds...
If the meet is cancelled before 6:00 am Saturday morning, we will send an email to the club and update the meet information page.  If Alpha Crush coaches think the weather is too bad, we will pull out of the meet.  
Should any parent feel the weather is not acceptable, that parent can certainly make the choice to leave, even if the meet has not been officially called.

2013 Track Information

A note from the meet hosts:
  1. At each meet when athletes arrive they should find their head coaches and get body markings.  Competitor number should be written in black marker on the athletes left upper arm.  The right upper arm should then have the age division.  Remember USATF has changed rules this year.  No more Subbantam, bantam, midget, youth, intermediate, young.   This year the age divisions will be 8-under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18.  So please make sure to mark the kids arms to keep athletes and parents from not getting confused.
  2. Meet schedule of running events is a bit different this year.  We will run the events in this order  3000m, 400m, 1500m, 100m, 800m, 200m, 4x100 relay, 4x400 relay.  Field events will be listed with regards to estimated start times on the host team meet schedule.  As always we will run each event in order from youngest to oldest age division by gender.  8-under girls, 8-under boys, etc.
  3. We will be conducting computer check-in for athletes as they are called by event and division.  Listen carefully and be on time for check in. This check in will be located inside the track near the finish line.  This year we will also have a seperate computer for field event check in.  We will give specific instructions over the P/A at each meet.
  4. Again the meet schedule for the season
    • Creekview High School May 4th (Morning start time)
    • Walton High School May 11th (Morning start time) 
    • Allatoona High School May 18th (Twilight event starting at 3PM) 
    • Etowah High School June 8th (Morning start time)

The athlete will participate in the age group determined by the athlete’s age as of December 31 of the current year.  See the USATF web site for the youth age group divisions.

An Extremely Important Note Regarding Estimated Track Event Start Times
The only event start time we can rely on is the 8:30 am time provided by the meet host.
The estimated times listed may be completely wrong. They have been provided as a courtesy by the Alpha Crush Coaches to give parents an idea of when a particular event may begin.  The actual starting times depend on the number of athletes participating, the number of heats involved, the weather and the ability of the volunteers to keep the meet running smoothly.

7:30-7:50am 3000m Check in – all divisions
7:45am Coaches meeting
8:00am First Call for first 3000m race
8:30am 3000m start; rolling schedule thereafter.  Remaining races will compete youngest to oldest, girls first then boys.

Competitor Event Limit:  3 events plus relays

List of Running Events
  • 3000m run (Start time 8:30 am – we hope to run two heats.  The first heat for runners estimating 12:30 (12 and a half minutes) and up finish, and the second heat for runners estimating 12:30 and faster.  After check in we will have a better idea of how to combine the race based on entry numbers).
    • USATF Rule 301 - Only athletes in the 11-12 age division (and older) are eligible for the 3000m run.
  • 400m dash (estimated 9:00 am)
  • 1500m run (estimated 10:30 am)
  • 100m dash (estimated 11:30 am)
  • 800m run (estimated 1:00 pm)
  • 200m dash (estimated 2:00 pm)
  • 4x100m relay (estimated 3:00 pm)
  • 4x400m relay (estimated 4:00 pm)
Relays:  If you wish to run a relay we need enough athletes to field a team in multiples of 4, as you need 4 athletes per relay team.
