Meet - Jackrabbit XC Meet - Sunday, November 5, 2017 (rescheduled)

A USATF GA Association Youth XC Developmental Meet

Rescheduled on 10/5/2017: With most forecasts showing a 90% chance of thunderstorms on Sunday, October 8th, the logistics of getting porta-johns available, the setting up of a course in heavy rain and with much of the parking being in rain soaked grass fields, we have decided to reschedule the meet this Sunday to November 5th. We apologize for this change but the safety of the athletes and families is paramount.

Little Mulberry Park, 3835 Fence Rd NE, Auburn, GA 30011

Thank you for signing up for the 2017 Jackrabbit XC Meet. This is the final Developmental meet of the season before we head into the Junior Olympic series next weekend with the Georgia Association meet.

A few points of notice for this meet. Please use the following link and address for reference.

Little Mulberry Park, 3835 Fence Rd NE, Auburn, GA 30011
Note: See Google maps location above

The address should get everyone to the entrance for the meet. There are other entrances for Little Mulberry Park so please supply the above to your parents. As you can see in the Google Maps link above, there is little paved parking. Any overflow will go into the field to the west of the parking lot.

As you can also see in the link, there are paths to the Observation Plateau where tents and the finish line will be set up. If arriving prior to the walk through, you will be able to take the cut-through to a portion of the course.

After the walk through starts, all traffic will directed around the paved path to the top part of the course to walk down near the starting line and into the Observation Plateau. Are. PLEASE LET YOUR PARENTS KNOW, this is about a 600 meter walk uphill. There is no easy access. But should make for great racing.

Please also note that we cannot stake and caution tape off the course. We will have cones up where needed. Spectators need to be aware of this so as not to impede a runner.

Lastly, please be aware of the course distances. The 2k is about 100 meters long. The 3k is about 200 meters short. And the 4k is about 400 meters short. There was no way around this as the high school 5k course is cut into the grass on the hillside. We had to make the best of what we have. The start is narrow so we may need to box and stack athletes.
