Additional Notes

Here are some additional notes about this meet:
  • This is the second of three meets in the developmental series.
  • This meet has 919 "athlete events" v. 1123 at the Etowah meet, so it is slightly smaller.  Athlete events multiplies the # of athletes by the number of events they are doing.
  • The starting time is 8:00 am (see time estimates below.)  The previous meet started at 8:30 am.
  • If the meet host provides additional information regarding number of heats, etc, time estimates will be updated accordingly.

Note from Meet Director

We are getting ready for our second meet of the series.  The first meet at Etowah was well organized and executed. We hope to continue with another great meet at Allatoona High School on May 17th.

We will have a T-Shirt Vendor, Live DJ, Concessions and hope to put on a great meet for all.

The schedule will basically mirror the 1st meet at Etowah for the exception it will start at 8:00am (30 minutes sooner than Etowah).  Everything else will be the same regarding order of events, etc.

Attached (at bottom of this page) you will find the meet schedule.

Event limits:
  • Competitors in the 8 and under, 9-10 or 11-12 year old divisions may enter a maximum of three individual events.
  • Competitors in the 13-14, 15-16 or 17-18 year old divisions may enter a maximum of four individual events.
  • Additionally, Competitors may also enter the 4x100 and/or 4x400 relay events.
Note: This meet begins at 8:00 am with the 3000m race.

Parents, please read, especially if you are new to track and field:
List of Running Events
Note about "estimated" times: With the exception of the 3000m run, we cannot tell you with certainty when a particular running event will start.  The "pace" of the meet depends on the number of athletes competing, the number of heats required, and the ability of the meet hosts to keep things running quickly.  This is referred to as a "rolling start"; the next event is started when the previous event is completed.  We hope to improve our estimates once we know how many total athletes have entered the meet (this information should be available after the meet entry deadline.)  This is are final set of estimates.  Review the attached documents at the bottom of this page for additional details.
  • 3000m run - start time 8:00 am
    • USATF Rule 301 - Only athletes in the 11-12 age division (and older) are eligible for the 3000m run.
