The Competitive Season - Track 2015

We compete in the following types of meets:

What do we mean by the "competitive season?" After all, in the middle school and developmental meets we compete against other teams and athletes.

We refer to the series of USA Track and Field (USATF) Junior Olympic meets as the competitive season. There are prerequisites and qualifying standards (described below.)

In the competitive season the "pressure" increases a bit, but not too much.

Remember that athletes are not required to compete, though we encourage them to do so!

Notes

  • The USA Track and Field (USATF) Junior Olympic series has prerequisites and qualifying standards.

    • Our Development and Middle School Meets are separate from the USATF meets; there is no relationship between Developmental, Middle School and USATF.

  • Unless otherwise noted, the Alpha Crush team registration fee covers the cost of membership fees and meet entry fees (but not travel expenses, massages or snacks.)

  • Alpha Crush does all the administrative work regarding USATF memberships and meet entries.

  • USATF Georgia Association Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships

  • USATF Region 4 Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships

  • USATF National Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Qualifying Standards

USATF Georgia Association Preliminary (Area A) Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships - June 6

    • Requirement: USATF age-verified membership; no additional qualifying standards

    • Location: Marietta High School, 1171 Whitlock Ave NW, Marietta, GA 30064

USATF Georgia Association Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships - June 18-21

  • Requirement: Participation in Area A meet

    • Location: Mill Creek High School, 4400 Braselton Hwy, Hoschton, GA 30548

USATF Region 4 Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships - July 9-12

  • Requirement: Top 12 individuals / Top 8 relays from USATF GA Association Championship

    • The reason Top 12, instead of Top 8, individuals advance is because Florida is hosting the National Championship and thus becomes their own region. South Carolina and Georgia split the 8 entries that Florida would have had, thus 12 instead of 8.

    • Location: Mill Creek High School, 4400 Braselton Hwy, Hoschton, GA 30548

USATF National Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships - July 27-August 2

    • Requirement: Top 5 individuals from USATF Region 4 Championship

    • Location: University of North Florida, 1 University of North Fl Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32224
