June 19, 2014 USATF Georgia Association Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Congratulations to our medal winners in the 800m, Heidi and Brynn! Top 8 qualify for Region 4 competition.
So many personal best performances!
8 & under girls
3rd place medal, Heidi Heppner, 2:59:11 (PR by .67 seconds)
6th place medal, Brynn Schlaupitz, 3:15.85 (PR by 8.95 seconds!)
Other notable performances:
9-10 girls
14th place, Clara Heppner, 2:55.47 (PR by 2.49 seconds)
27th place, Izzy Martinez, 4:31.82 (her 2nd fastest time this season!)
9-10 boys
9th place, Timmy Cole, 2:54.17 (PR by 4.91 seconds! Missed 8th place by a mere 0.71 seconds) Timmy ran in heat 1 and was never challenged; all but 1 of the top 8 came from heat 3.
13-14 girls
26th place, Liliana Martinez, 2:56.21 (PR by 2.4 seconds, newly recovered from an injured ankle!)
13-14 boys
22nd place, Darian Newton, 2:32.44 (PR by 2.9 seconds!)
