Information Provided by Meet Director
We look forward to hosting you on Saturday! As you are registering athletes for the Creekview/Cherokee Youth Track Invitational, I wanted to make sure that you have noticed that the order of events for this meet differs significantly from the other meets this season and the start time for running events is slightly different as well. In alignment with USATF standards, we will again this year restrict entrance to the infield to coaches and Cherokee/Creekview volunteers helping to run our meet. With all four field events accessible from the infield, this is a much larger issue at our track. To manage this, we will be issuing wristbands, which will be in your coaches/bib packet at packet pick up at the Creekview Tent.
Packet Pick-Up will be at the Creekview Tent (for coaches to pickup) – You packet will include your coach wrist bands – After 6:50 am entry to the infield and all field event venues will only be open to athletes, coaches with a wrist band, and Creekview/Cherokee meet volunteers with a wrist band.
Coaches meeting will start at 7:00 am on the infield.
Food Trucks will open around 11:00 – Taco Chingones, Get Skewers, and Kona Ice – Location is indicated on the Stadium Map
Live Results: will be provided by Olympia Resources in Milesplit – link is not available yet
Relay Check-In: All 4 runners must check-in together at the same time
Field Events: Athletes must check in when their event/age division is called – If they get called for check-in to a running event, they need to check out at the field event first and then return /check back in at the field event as soon as their running event is finished – Athletes that fail to check in when their field event was called and show up after that age division is finished, will not be able to compete in that field event (i.e. Johnny had a soccer game, missed his field event, and comes 1 hour later and wants to do the field event)
Fleet Feet will be handing out medals to the top 3 finishers in each event (age/gender division) – Results have to be in the Live Results in order for the athlete to pick-up their medal.
Entry Deadline - Tuesday, 5/7/2024, 8:00 pm
Event limits
Competitors may enter a maximum of three individual events.
Additionally, Competitors may also enter the 4x100 and/or 4x400 relay events.
Historically, Alpha Crush does not typically have enough entries to form a relay team. You can also take the initiative and review the "Meet Entries by Event" document (see link below.) On that list you can find others who are interested in running a relay. For these developmental meets you do not have to be the same age division or gender to form a team ... just run in the race based on the oldest team member. If you have questions, ask the day of the meet.
Athletic.net - the *real* meet entries ... be sure to review for accuracy!
It is a manual process for Coach Matthew to transfer the Meet Selections made by the parents/athletes to "meet" entries. The reports below are updated every few hours until the entry deadline.
List of Running Events
With the exception of the first running event, we cannot tell you with certainty when a particular running event will start. The "pace" of the meet depends on the number of athletes competing, the number of heats required, and the ability of the meet hosts to keep things running quickly. This is referred to as a "rolling start"; the next event is started when the previous event is completed.
Having said that, following the meet entry deadline, Coach Matthew will prepare and provide a link to a spreadsheet that lists estimated starting times for each event. These time estimates are based on experience of how long a particular event takes, the order in which the events occur, and the number of athletes entered in each event..
Note the "as of date/time" in the footer of the report.
Estimates are more accurate after registration closes and Coach Matthew has had time to process the data.
